I finished the black sock on the way back from the aquarium my daddy took us to...At first, I was really excited, but then I realized how yucky it is!
There's a hole on the gusset on the inside-it looks like a run in a pair of tights. I don't know how it got there...I guess I didn't do the decreases tight enough.
And what the heck does "weave in ends" mean? I sort of sewed the rest of the yarn into the tip of the toe, but now It's this obnoxious-looking sock-pimple thing...It's all pointy and...Obnoxious...and pimply!
Oh, well...
Somebody, please comment!!
How do you "weave in ends" without ending up with sock-zits?

jk, i don't want it anymore! lol! jk! i don't know what i'm jk-ing about!
don't fuss--everything comes out in the wash.
before you package it for a gift..machine wash it, and dry it on sock blockers.
(i use the ones made out of wire coat hangers.. see Stitch n Bitch nation if you can't figure it out for yourself..
the 'ladder' will be half gone after 1 washing, and in a few washing, the sock will be perfect.
(besides no one but you is going to see the inperfections!)
you should be proud its looks like a sock.. (my first sock (some 30 years ago!) looked good.. but it was so tight it couldn't be worn!
To weave in ends neatly, I use duplicate stitch. I see that you know about knittinghelp.com. Some of her videos show her weaving in her ends. It isn't hard, really!
If you can post a pic of the hole in your black sock I bet someone can help you figure out how it got there. A run in a pair of tights sounds like a dropped stitch or a ladder.
Hugs!
