
Before that, I had gone to Michael's and bought4 skeins of Sugar 'n' Cream, but my mom is probably going to return it, b/c I had wanted to make some socks with it, but discovered that it's 100% cotton, which means no memory or elasticity...
Danielle went with us to the LYS...She got some Gaway and DPN's...I showed her how to set them up, but didn't have time to show her how to knit in the round, so I gave her the knitting help address. I also showed her Knitty.
Here are her hands while she spread the stitches onto the needles:

I accidentally fiddled around with it so it isn't as clear as it should have been:(...Also, I made her hands look wider than they really are...

Something I was debating with my mom, Danielle, and Danielle's mom-do you pronounce "skein" as "scain (ai as in raid)," "skeen (ee as in green)," or "skine (i as in twine)?" Is it a regional thing? Like Yankees versus Southerners?

I say sKAYn like RAIN. Google "Sock Wars" - it's a nice easy pattern that knits up well in DK weight.
i pronounce it the same way! but RIP my sock becuase i had to take it out and start a new one!
